Swirly Mess

Long time no speak folks! ;)

As you may be able to tell from the more recurring posts that I am already bored of summer and seem to go back to doing my nails for something to do :p

This design is my lazy attempt at water marbling, by just  blobbing on 2 or more polish colours onto the nail and swirling them together with  dotting tool or needle. I've yet to actually give water-marbling a shot, but it seems too much hassle, like making sure the water and polishes are at the same temperature, and getting polishes of similar viscosity etc. Whereas with dry-marbling (not sure if that's the official term of my version, but let's go with it lol) is a lot easier with a LOT less mess :)

BROWN: OPI  - San-tan-tonio
BLACK: Barry M - Black
I'm currently trying out the X-large sizing option for the photo, as it lets you see more detail (I currently use large) but I don't want the photos to be IN YOUR FACE y'know? :p

I would like to apologise for the wear and tear of my cuticles and just generally the area around my skin -_- The blue polish from my precious design stained my skin as I was taking it off D:

I also have a confession to make...as you may be able to tell, I don't actually take care of my cuticles as much as I should... *DUN DUN DUNNNNNN* I just find it all a bit of a faff to take care of my cuticles...I do have Sally Hansen's Cuticle Remover, and Burts Bees Lemon Cuticle Butter, but my cuticles never seem to end up nice and lovely :( I kind of expected the Sally Hansen stuff to magically remove my cuticles rather than just soften them I guess. I have a cuticle pusher but that doesn't seem to do the trick, but then again I'm kind of scared to use those scary cuticle clippers that look like pliers. I have th8is image of me somehow pulling my nail off 0_0 However, I am getting into the habit of using The Body Shop's Almond Hand & Nail cream so hopefully that should make things a bit better!

Till next time!

Domo Kun!

Okay, I got bored of all the lovey dovey Valentines Day nails, so I thought I'd get round to the design that made me want to do nail art in the first place...Domo Kun!

Domo is a little...monster?...type thing famous through advertising a Japanese TV channel, and hence famous in Asia and to any Otaku's out there hehe.

This design is relatively simple to do and didn't take me long to do at all :)

Sweet Like Chocolate, Boy...

Nothing like a bit of cheesy 90's pop to inspire your nail art ;)

I added a little cherry type rhinestone on an accent finger to make it look more dessert-ish :)

Real Feather Nails

Real feather nails were quite the trend around the time I done this, so I decided to get some off ebay. I wasn't sure whether to get like 500 for cheap, or 50 for a tad more money, as I wasn't sure it'd be a trend I'd like to do more than once, and what the hell was I going to do with 500 feathers?! XD

The steps are easy...base coat, dry. Top coat, place feather on, trim if necessary, wait to dry. Slather on more top caot. The last step is rather important, as it helps hold down any stray feathery bits and make it smoother, you can see the texture of the feather on my thumb.

Autumn tree flower things...

I love a bit of Barry M. They're affordable, and come in a tonne of colours and glitters. Although their names don't tend to be properly descriptive of the colour in the bottle, they're great nonetheless. the majority of Barry M's I own have a great formula, with only one or 2 being annoyingly too sheer.

So, my friend had text me a 20% off discount code for their website and I took full advantage to say the least. Once they arrive, I wanted to do a new nail design incorporating a few of them (I got a wide range, from citrus colours, to glitters and autumn colours so I couldn't really use them all for the one design lol).

I had seen a youtube tutorial for cheery blossom trees so decided to try my hand at the same design. however I went a bit crazy on the dotting, so they weren't quite as bare and empty as cherry blossoms usully are, but it was still a nice design in the end :)

OM NOM NOM NOM!!

I have a slight obsession with the Cookie Monster. And Sesame Street in general, but I love this wee dude the most just cos he shares my love for cookies hehe.
